RULES LibreDigital
Galería Artelibre and digital artist Jaime Sanjuán, in collaboration with the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM), call for the first international competition for figurative digital painting LibreDigital, endowed with a First Prize of 2,000 euros.
This contest seeks to promote and disseminate figurative digital art. The main task is to encourage artistic initiatives and sponsor digital artists.
1.-
Participation is open to all artists.
2.-
Several works are accepted by author and must be original and their exclusive property.
3.-
The theme is free as long as it is figurative digital art. Technical skill and originality of the subject will be valued. Any digital painting device and application can be used.
4.-
The minimum dimensions are set to 2480 px on either side and the maximum dimensions to 7016 px on either side. All works must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. The work must be presented in PNG with an embedded color profile.

In the registration form, a PNG or JPG image of a maximum weight of 6mb will be sent, if the work is selected the organization will contact the interested person to ask them to send the image in a higher quality format for printing and inclusion in the catalog.

To guarantee the full execution of the work by the author, the jury may request from the selected participants proof of the realization of the work. Participants are encouraged to take photos and / or record the entire process on video. Likewise, the jury may request the original file of the work to guarantee its originality. This file will only be used for informational purposes and will be destroyed once the verification is completed.
6.- How to participate.
6.1 Inscriptión
It will be done from January 1 to February 28, 2022 (non-extendable), solely and exclusively through the website: www. artelibre.net

- Fill in the form with complete artist and work data.
- Attach the work (max. Weight 6 mb)
- Make the payment of 30 euros as registration fee for each of the works.
- You can submit as many works as you wish, by filling in one form per work.
6.2 Documentation
Once the form, the work and the payment by PayPal have been sent, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you.
Make sure your details are correct.
6.3 Evaluation and selection
Once the works have been received and the admission period has closed, they will be subjected to various selection phases to verify that they meet all the requirements established in these bases.
The jury will make the final selection of the 50 finalist works from March 1 to 10, 2022. All non-finalist works that the jury considers to have sufficient technical quality and originality will also become part of the competition catalog as selected works.
In mid-March 2022, the Jury’s decision will be communicated to the awarded artists as well as those selected. The jury may grant as many Honorable Mentions it deems appropriate.
The 50 finalist works will be exhibited at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona. The organization will contact all the selected artists to manage the printing of the works. To guarantee the adequate quality of the exhibited works and avoid high shipping costs, the organization will print and frame them. The cost of this process will be borne by the artists.
From April 29 to June 5, 2022, the first LibreDigital exhibition will be held at the MEAM, where the awards ceremony will also be held (date to be determined) and the catalog of the contest will be presented, which will include all the selected and finalist works.
Galería Artelibre may organize exhibitions in other cities, the artists being duly informed of such circumstances.
7.- Jury
The jury will be independent and made up of professionals from the art world.
The jury’s decision will be final.
8.- Awards
The first prize is 2.000 €
The payments of the prizes will be subject to the fiscal regulations imposed by the Law, with the applicable deductions being made.

9.- Copyright
The winning works will become the property of the MEAM and the Fundación de las Artes y los Artistas, which, having their exclusive use, will acquire the rights of exhibition and photographic reproduction of the same. All participating artists will assign the rights of reproduction, printing, information, etc. for the edition of catalogs, advertising, information on social networks, etc., always in the general context of this contest.
Galería Artelibre will not market those photographs in a context that is not within this contest without the artist’s prior authorization.
Those artists who are part of associations and / or have
registered their works’ reproduction rights, must inform Galería Artelibre of such circumstances and bear the expenses that derive from the corresponding rights.
10.-
Participation in the contest implies full acceptance and conformity with the provisions of these rules.
11.-
Galería Artelibre reserves the right to take initiatives not reflected in these bases, provided that they contribute to the better development of the contest and do not substantially affect the essence of it.

En cualquier momento, el participante podrá ejercer sus derechos de acceso, rectificación, supresión, limitación, oposición y portabilidad dirigiéndose a la dirección de correo electrónico artelibre@artelibre.net, concretando su solicitud. El participante garantiza la autenticidad de aquellos datos que comunique, y se compromete a mantener actualizados los mismos durante el período de duración de esta convocatoria, siendo responsable de todos los daños y perjuicios ocasionados por la aportación de datos incompletos, inexactos o falsos.
